The community of Giffers, in French Chevrilles, called Güffersch in the local dialect, is located about 6 km east of Freiburg in the upper Sense district.
The community is well connected in terms of transport. It is located on the main road from Freiburg to Plaffeien, which leads to the Schwarzsee region. There are also connecting roads to St. Silvester and Le Mouret as well as to Rechthalten and St. Ursen. Giffers is connected to the public transport network by three bus lines of the Fribourg public transport. The travel time by bus from Giffers to Freiburg train station is 25 minutes. The bus stop can be reached on foot in 3 minutes.
The proximity to the city and agglomeration of Freiburg has allowed Giffers to grow into an attractive residential community with an intact and vital village life.
