It is located on a property with an area of 11,064 m², this estate is a unique place for dogs and cats.
It is situated in the heart of a forest, away from the village of Bex and in a resident-free zone, just 2 km from the Saint Triphon motorway exit.
It was founded in 1936 by General Guisan for the dogs of the army's sanitary troops... and bought by the Muller family in 1948.
In 2006, it was purchased almost in ruins, the owner rebuilt it to create a peaceful and safe living space for the animals. This shelter has a permit to accommodate 60 dogs and to produce at least 3 litters.
The estate is organized as follows: An entrance provides access to the administrative building, which houses the reception, an office, and a training room on the first floor. The ground floor is equipped with a grooming salon, a hospital, and a kitchen, as well as some boxes, a cat station, and a room for rodents. This building was constructed in 2014 after a fire destroyed the entire building.
The dog boxes are located in wooden stables with 3 or 4 boxes, distributed throughout the estate, each with an outdoor area with a playground. Each box measures 7.5 m². The stables are heated with electric radiators on the ceiling. Access to water is located in a hut in the center of the estate.
The entire estate is fenced.
Today, the company, Rocher de l'Aigle SA, employs 5 people for the care of the shelter and the management of the animals. All shelter staff are professional animal caregivers. The infrastructure is also authorized to train apprentices.
