The multi-family house at General-Guisan Strasse 27 was built in 1906 in solid construction.
Narrow, stilted proportioned solid building in historicism forms (a mixture of neo-Renaissance and neo-baroque) under a mansard roof. Strong contrast between sober longitudinal fronts and vividly reliefed main facade with pattern book-like cement cast detailing: floor-by-floor differentiated corner lenses, consoles, and sharply profiled window gables with masks; above the good shop front, a bel étage is distinguished by a front balcony. Historical front door, staircase with wrought iron railing and terrazzo. On the rear front, terraces on cast iron supports and filigree grids. The solitary building that shapes the street space is a classic example of quality master architecture.
The well-maintained property is currently fully rented out.
