Varen
The wine village of Varen is located at the transition from Upper to Lower Valais on a terrace with an unobstructed view and fantastic viewpoints of the Pfynwald and the entire Rhône Valley. The location on the sunny side of the valley promises residents plenty of sunshine and warmth.
Due to its central location, you can reach Visp and Sion in 20 minutes. With the bus line, you can connect to the train network at the Leuk or Siders train station in 10 minutes.
Varen stands out especially for its proximity to nature, viticulture, and an active village life. The family atmosphere and the clarity of the entire village offer families with children excellent prospects. Varen has its own kindergarten and primary school. The orientation school is attended in the neighboring village of Leuk.
Due to its proximity to various tourism regions, leisure activities can also be individually arranged outside the village, with numerous outdoor activities available.
Traditional Village Restaurant
The building was completely gutted and rebuilt in 1971. The house has a basement and features the heating system in the basement, which was renovated in 2016, the oil tank, storage, cellar, and a goods lift.
On the ground floor is the welcoming restaurant with 36 seats, a WC, and the bar. Outside, you can use the garden terrace with 10 seats.
On the 1st floor, there is the dining room with another 20 seats, which can be used for events, a cozy Jass round, club meetings, or daily needs. This floor also has the kitchen, a WC, and an old telephone booth.
On the 2nd floor is the 4.5-room landlord's apartment with bathroom, WC, and balcony.
On the 3rd floor is the attic, which could be developed and connected to the landlord's apartment. The resulting attic apartment would be characterized by a lot of charm and high rooms.
The Restaurant de la Post is located in the middle of the village of Varen, on the so-called village square, next to a grocery store and the municipal office.
